Resumo: The restructuring of production and deregulation of the labor market are factors that cause degradation of the conditions and working arrangements and affect the working relations in all sectors of the economy. This article aims to identify the perceptions about work relations that have Commercial Workers who perform activities in a shopping center in Porto Alegre. We seek to understand the management practices in fields like wages, working hours, time off and work on Sundays. We use the approach of quantitative and qualitative research to interpret data from RAIS and the technique of content analysis to interpret the interviews with employees. Among the more general findings of the study we can say that: the strength of union representation is low; the journey is relaxed and stretched to the limit - the extra work without pay on Sundays -; the salary is considered unsatisfactory and, to be acceptable, depends on the commissions on sales, which requires a complete dedication of the worker. These factors negatively influence the shopworker’s perception about work and work relations.

These factors negatively influence the shopworker’s perception about work and work relations.A reestruturação produtiva e a desregulamentação do mercado de trabalho são fatores que provocam a degradação das condições e dos regimes de trabalho e influenciam as relações de trabalho em todos os setores da economia. O presente artigo tem como objetivo identificar as percepções dos comerciários, que exercem suas atividades em um shopping center de Porto Alegre, a cerca das relações de trabalho. Busca-se conhecer as práticas gerenciais em terrenos como salários, jornada de trabalho, folgas e trabalhos aos domingos. Utilizamos a abordagem quantiqualitativa de pesquisa por intermédio da análise dos dados da RAIS (Relação Anual de Informações Sociais)e da técnica da análise de conteúdo nas entrevistas. Dentre os achados mais gerais do estudo, podemos afirmar que a força da representação sindical é reduzida; a jornada é flexibilizada e ampliada até o limite - o trabalho sem remuneração extra aos Domingos; o salário fixo é considerado insatisfatório e o variável, para ser aceitável, exige uma dedicação exaustiva do trabalhador. Esses fatores influenciam negativamente a percepção que os comerciários possuem a respeito das relações de trabalho a qual estão submetidos e, por via de consequência, acerca do próprio trabalho enquanto atividade humana.Universidade Federal do Rio Grande, FURG.
