The socio-environmental impacts of alternative energy generating sources in the communities surrounding the wind facilities at Serra da Babilônia and the Força Eólica do Brasil

Resumo: The implementation of wind farms causes direct and indirect, positive and negative socio-environmental impacts. The objective of this work is to evaluate and discuss these impacts. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out on wind power generation in Brazil and the main environmental impacts related to this activity. Then, semi-structured interviews were carried out with the social actors affected by these impacts and with the managers of the works located in Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia. Thus, it is concluded that the implementation of wind farms in Brazil is important, as it expands and enriches the country's energy matrix. However, although this renewable energy is considered green and clean, there are positive and negative impacts, which directly interfere with the quality of life of the community, located close to the project.

Así, se concluye que la implementación de parques eólicos en Brasil es importante, ya que expande y enriquece la matriz energética del país. Sin embargo, aunque esta energía renovable se considera verde y limpia, existen impactos positivos y negativos, que interfieren directamente con la calidad de vida de la comunidad, ubicada cerca del proyecto.A implantação de parques eólicos provocam impactos socioambientais diretos e indiretos, positivos e negativos. O objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar e discutir estes impactos. Para isso, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a geração de energia eólica no Brasil e os principais impactos ambientais relacionados a esta atividade. Em seguida, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com os atores sociais atingidos por esses impactos e com os gestores das obras situadas no Rio Grande do Norte e na Bahia. Assim, conclui-se que a implantação de parques eólicos no Brasil é importante, pois expande e enriquece a matriz energética do país.
