Resumo: This study looks at the favorable decisions issued by the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJSP) concerning "Veterinary Medical Error" in relation to the practice of veterinary medicine in 2022. The aim is to study the main gaps and ramifications resulting from the failure to use the services of judicial experts and veterinary medical technical assistants to guide the trial, with a view to substantially resolving court cases with a scientific foundation based on expert evidence. The conclusion drawn from this work is that veterinary experts and technical consultants play a vital role in veterinary law, elucidating clinical and surgical situations, assessing the conduct of professionals and determining the occurrence of "medical error", and are fundamental to ensuring compliance with animal law.
