Pregnancy changes a woman's physiology, placing her at greater risk in relation to Covid-19, with more serious developments, creating a greater need for adequate, effective and safe vaccination against Covid-19. However, the vaccines currently accepted for pregnant women are specific as category B. In the meantime, the objectives of the present study are to elucidate which vaccines against Covid-19 are safe for pregnant women, their adverse effects and the vaccination program. The currently safe vaccines for gestational administration are Pfizer and CoronaVac. Through studies carried out on animals, the vaccines did not show teratogenic effects, in addition to not demonstrating adverse effects. Pain at the injection site was the most frequently reported adverse effect. Vaccinations should preferably be carried out before the third trimester. Vaccination should be avoided during flu-like illness and should not be administered concomitantly with another vaccine. Vaccination of pregnant women must be subject to an individualized assessment, shared between the pregnant woman and her doctor.
