Resumo: Splenic rupture in newborns is a rare condition, usually associated with factors such as birth trauma, prematurity and coagulopathies. With this in mind, this article aims to understand the etiology, clinical factors and diagnosis of this pathology. To this end, a search was carried out in Pubmed and Scielo using the descriptors "Splenic Rupture" AND "Newborn" OR "Infant". neonatal splenic rupture can be triggered by various factors, including trauma during childbirth, the mother's use of medication and the newborn's hematological conditions. Symptoms can vary, making diagnosis challenging. Treatment can involve conservative approaches, such as careful monitoring and volume resuscitation, or surgical interventions, such as exploratory laparotomy or splenic artery embolization. In addition, it is necessary to stress the importance of early recognition of hemorrhagic shock and hemodynamic stabilization in order to improve clinical outcomes. The lack of a standardized protocol for the management of neonatal splenic rupture indicates the need for an individualized approach, taking into account the severity of the case and the clinical experience of the doctor in charge.
