Resumo: The secular use of medicinal plants for treating, curing, and preventing diseases reflects a constant search for natural alternatives to improve quality of life. In veterinary medicine, herbal therapy has increasingly been employed in the treatment of ectoparasites due to its cost-effectiveness, reduced harm to animal health, and minimized environmental impact compared to chemotherapeutic treatments. The excessive use of chemical products has led to increased resistance and prolonged environmental persistence of ectoparasites. Although there is a vast diversity of medicinal plants for veterinary purposes, related studies are still scarce. This review aims to report on the main species of medicinal plants with acaricidal properties used in traditional field veterinary practices.

Specialized Dentistry Group2024-01-25info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/133110.36557/2674-8169.2024v6n1p1862-1878Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 No. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1862-1878Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 Núm. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1862-1878Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 6 n. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1862-18782674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1331/1510Copyright (c) 2024 Aline Soares de Santana Dutra, Rafael Filipe Ferreira Dutra, Pedro Drummond Rodrigues, Danilo Farias de Morais, Aldeone Oliveira Laranjeira, Jonathan Eduardo Custódio Maquiné, Rafael Rodrigues Gomides, Glaucenyra Cecília Pinheiro da Silva https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDutra, Aline Soares de SantanaDutra, Rafael Filipe FerreiraRodrigues, Pedro DrummondMorais, Danilo Farias de Laranjeira, Aldeone OliveiraMaquiné, Jonathan Eduardo CustódioGomides, Rafael RodriguesSilva , Glaucenyra Cecília Pinheiro da2024-01-25T21:04:18Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1331Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2024-01-25T21:04:18Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
