Resumo: To report the experience of professors in the use of active learning methods applied to the teaching of pathology in the physiotherapy course of a private Brazilian university. At the beginning of the semester, students were informed that the classes would be presented using different learning models than usual. Throughout the semester, students were coached to identify the learning model that best suited their learning style. Problem-based learning (PBL), case-based learning (CBA), and flipped classrooms were used. Course performance was assessed at two points during the semester. Results showed benefits in overall performance, with a 26% increase in average individual grades between assessments. Students were more focused and engaged in the learning process, with increased visits to the institutional library to borrow the physical collection linked to the digital technology collection, and a higher volume of access to the digital platform.
