Concept maps and questionnaires: use of teaching assessment tools in extension actions

Resumo: The integration of teaching, research and extension constitutes an efficient didactic model in the agricultural sciences. Finalist students of the Technical Course in Fishing Resources followed the traditional process of fishmeal production in the Rural Community of Nossa Senhora do Desterro (Parintins, Amazonas) and, after observing the flaws inherent in the process, the students gave a workshop on good practices in handling of food, optimizing the traditional production process and increasing technical knowledge about fish by-products, hygiene and food handling. For the purpose of evaluating the efficiency of the extension activity, teaching evaluation tools were used (conceptual map and questionnaires using the Likert scale model). The results indicate that the exchange and interaction of technical and cultural knowledge contribute to the consolidation of the student's cognitive structure, due to the significance of the acquired knowledge and the consolidation of previous knowledge on the subject.

Alunos finalistas do Curso Técnico em Recursos Pesqueiros acompanharam o processo tradicional de produção de farinha de peixe na Comunidade Rural Nossa Senhora do Desterro (Parintins, Amazonas) e, após a observação das falhas inerentes ao processo, os estudantes ministraram oficina de boas práticas na manipulação de alimentos, otimizando o processo produtivo tradicional e incrementando os conhecimentos técnicos acerca dos subprodutos de pescado, higiene e manipulação de alimentos. Para fins de avaliação da eficiência da atividade de extensão foram utilizadas ferramentas de avaliação do ensino (mapa conceitual e questionários utilizando modelo da escala Likert).
