Resumo: This article proposes Geographic Engineering as an alternative to (re) inserting the Geographer into the labor market of constant and intense transformations. It correlates the attributions of the Geographer with other professional categories, evidences their low representativeness in the market and factors that limit their recognition and professional performance. In the scenario of constant and intense transformations, which prioritize technical and pragmatic technologies and professionals, the rise of engineering courses is notorious. The proposal of Geographical Engineering is not seen as a trend, but as an option to promote autonomy, overcome crises, technological training and an efficient professional performance.

En el escenario de constantes e intensas transformaciones, que priorizan las tecnologías y profesionales técnicos y pragmáticos, es notorio el ascenso de los cursos de ingenierías. La propuesta de la ingeniería geográfica no es vista como otra tendencia, sino como opción para promover autonomía, superar crisis, capacitación tecnológica y un eficiente desempeño profesional.Este artigo propõe a engenharia geográfica como alternativa para (re)inserir o Geógrafo no mercado de trabalho de constantes e intensas transformações. Correlaciona as atribuições do geógrafo com outras categorias profissionais, evidencia sua baixa representatividade no mercado e fatores que limitam seu reconhecimento e desempenho profissional. No cenário de constantes e intensas transformações, que priorizam as tecnologias e profissionais técnicos e pragmáticos, é notória a ascensão dos cursos de engenharias.
