Resumo: This is a descriptive study, carried out from data of 192 records of patients with Hansen´s disease assisted at the UFMS´s hospital, in Campo Grande, MS, from January 1994 to July 2005. Its goal was to determine the epidemiological profile of the disease in the group of patients studied and to give subsidy to the Hansen´s disease control policy. The variables studied are part of the disease´s notifying record and control. The findings showed that the patients were mostly males (62.5%); aged 40 to 59 (45.8%); multibacillary (67.2%); borderline (35.9%) and lepromatous (27.6%). Seventy three per cent (73%) of the cases were evaluated in relation to the disability at the beginning of the treatment. From these cases, 66.7% did not present problems with hands, feet or eyes whereas 33.3% presented disability or deformity.
