The challenge about the practice of the assistence to the deaf population: the pacient perception and the consequences in the nursing care

Resumo: Objective: to identify what are the perceptions of people with hearing impairment and the consequences in nursing care. Methodology: this is an integrative review of the literature on the challenges in the practice of assistence, highlighting the perception of the deaf patient and the consequences in the nurse's care in the face of the deficit in the teaching of Libras at graduation. The databases used were Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Base de Dados em Enfermagem (BDENF) and the Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) was used to auxiliary capture of works within these bases. Results: from the 10 articles that make up this review, it was possible to identify variables, in which they were divided into three categories to discuss the results: "The deaf patient's view through the assistance provided", "The lack of knowledge of Libras by the health professional and their consequences in their professional life” and “Ways to improve care for this population”. Conclusion: it was possible to observe that the deficit in the Nursing graduation brought consequences in the daily life of the professional nurse when faced with the challenge of assisting hearing impaired people. Even with alternative means of communicating with this population, a truly efficient assistance is provided when the professional is able to communicate through Libras, aiming at a service that complies with the principles of the SUS.

Método: trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura sobre os desafios na prática do acolhimento, ressaltando a percepção do paciente surdo e as consequências na assistência do enfermeiro frente ao déficit no ensino de Libras na graduação. As bases de dados utilizadas foram Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e Base de Dados em Enfermagem (BDENF), e foi utilizada a Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) para captação auxiliar dos trabalhos dentro destas bases. Resultados: a partir dos 10 artigos que compõem essa revisão, foi possível identificação de variáveis, nas quais foram dividias em três categorias para discursão dos resultados: “O olhar do paciente surdo mediante a assistência prestada”, “O déficit de conhecimento de Libras pelo profissional da saúde e suas consequências em sua vida profissional” e “Formas de aprimoramento da assistência para essa população”. Conclusão: foi possível observar que o déficit na graduação de Enfermagem trouxe consequências no cotidiano do profissional enfermeiro ao se deparar com o desafio de atender pessoas deficientes auditivas.
