Resumo: | The aim of competitive intelligence is to support decisions taken at a strategic and tactical level by organizations. Competitive Intelligence uses critical success factors in helping define executive and specialists needs when focusing on questions of strategy for their companies. In this sense, this work aims at identifying those critical success factors which give support to the system of competitive intelligence in a Brazilian company. As its methodology, this work was outlined as exploratory research with a case study, using a Brazilian compressor manufacturer as the subject of the research. Initially, a brief theoretical study concerning competitive intelligence and critical success factors is established. Following this, the company itself is presented as the object of the case study and, finally, a list of those success factors that the company considers critical. The research results show that competitive intelligence activity is integrated within the structural and operational model and that critical success factors help the company's strategic plan on focusing on the competitor. |

Utiliza-se dos fatores críticos de sucesso para ajudar a definir as necessidades dos executivos e especialistas na focalização de questões estratégicas para as empresas. Neste sentido, o trabalho busca identificar os fatores críticos de sucesso que dão suporte ao sistema de inteligência competitiva em uma empresa brasileira. Como procedimentos metodológicos, o estudo foi delineado como uma pesquisa exploratória, por meio de um estudo de caso, tendo uma empresa brasileira fabricante de compressores como sujeito da pesquisa. Assim, inicialmente se estabelece uma breve fundamentação teórica sobre inteligência competitiva e sobre os fatores críticos de sucesso. Na seqüência, apresenta-se a empresa, objeto do estudo de caso, e, por fim, relacionam-se os fatores críticos de sucesso considerados pela empresa.
