Resumo: This scientific article seeks to promote a reflection on the differences and the similarities between the American Supreme CourtSupreme Court (STF), considering on the historical origin of both courts, the jurisdiction and competence, the control of constitutionality adopted, as well as on the nomination, selection and approval process Supreme Court Judges and the Ministers of the Federal Court of Justice. It turns out to be a important and topical theme that shows understand so that a due reform in the Brazilian Judiciary, specifically in the summit organ of that Power, the STF.
