Resumo: | Our study consisted of 60 obese men and women, registered at the Nutrition Ambulatory from “Escola Paulista de Medicina”. The objectives were to analyse their food pattern and the influence of the nutritional guidance directed to them. The 24 hours, food recall applied in four moments was used to assess the diet. The quantity and quality of the food consumed was analysed just before and after the diet therapy was established. lt was observed an increase of consumption of regulatory foods, and significant decrease of the energetic ones. Also, it was observed that patients need constant recommendations about eating more time a day during the treatment. |

Also, it was observed that patients need constant recommendations about eating more time a day during the treatment.Foram estudados sessenta indivíduos dos sexos masculino e feminino, portadores de obesidade, matriculados no Ambulatório de Nutrição da Escola Paulista de Medicina, em São Paulo, SP, com o objetivo de analisar seu padrão alimentar e verificar a influência da orientação nutricional nesses pacientes. Para a avaliação da dieta, utilizou-se o método de inquérito alimentar recordatório de 24 horas, aplicado em quatro momentos. Foram analisadas a qualidade e a quantidade de alimentos consumidos antes e após a intervenção dietoterápica. Constatou-se aumento na ingestão de alimentos reguladores e diminuição significativa dos energéticos.
