Resumo: The goal of this study is to identify the relationships bctwccn the way parents deal with their aggrcssive feelings and their children's behavior, regarding aggression. Eighty children ofboth sexes, with ages ranging from three to five years, and their parents wcrc thc subjects ofthe study. Some screening was conducted, controlling for variables such as: living with both parents, number of siblings, and age. After the children were observed in the pre-school, for 90 minutes.Toe parents were administered Spielberger's STAXI which shows how angcr is cxpressed. The results revealed a positive significant correlation between mothcr's "anger-out" scores and thc total aggressive behavior of their daughters. Thc ANOVAS performed to see if males would show more physical than verbal aggression, as compared to females, yielded significant leveis. It was found that both kinds of aggressive behavior, physical and verbal, increased with age, in this sample. The study contains a brief analysis of aggressive behaviors in children, as well as a content analysis of vcrbalizations of aggression.

The study contains a brief analysis of aggressive behaviors in children, as well as a content analysis of vcrbalizations of aggression.O propósito deste estudo foi identificar a relação entre a forma como os pais lidam com sua agressividade e a maneira pela qual seus filhos pré-escolares estão se relacionando com os colegas, no que se refere a comportamentos agressivos. Foram investigadas 80 crianças de ambos os sexos, entre três e cinco anos e seus respectivos pais. Foi realizada uma triagem destas, controlando-se variáveis, como: residir com ambos os pais, número de irmãos e idade. Após, as crianças foram observadas nas pré-escolas, por 90 minutos. Os pais foram avaliados através do STAXI, que analisa a forma como expressam a sua raiva. Na análise dos resultados, constatou-se que há uma correlação significativa e positiva entre os escores na subescala "raiva para fora" do STAXI de mães e o comportamento total de agressão (verbal e físico). Verificou-se, através de análises de variância, que as crianças do sexo masculino apresentam mais comportamentos agressivos físicos do que verbais, quando comparados com as do sexo feminino. Constatou-se, também, que houve um aumento dos comportamentosagressivos, tanto fisicos quanto verbais, com o passar dos anos das crianças.
