Resumo: This article is the second of a series presenting some considerations on the re/ations between information and communication technologies, education organizations and values and lhe academic work of the teacher. The main purpose of this article is to discuss some consequences of information and communication tecnologies, particulary those related to the use of the computer in academic work. ln arder to have a more comprehensive understanding of the subject, the text is divided into three paris: i) the importance of work in human life; ii) the values related to academic work and iii) the use of computers in education.
