STATE OF THE ART OF TWO HAIRY SPECIES THREATENED WITH EXTINCTION IN THE BRAZILIAN CERRADO

The hairy Myrmecophaga tridactyla and Bradypus variegatus occur in the Cerrado and are classified as vulnerable by the International Union of Conservation - IUCN. The aim of this study was to know the state of the art of publications with these two species. The survey of the articles used the Scopus database and the search was carried out with the “scientific name of each species”, which may be present in the abstract, keywords and title of the articles at any time. After selecting and filtering the articles, various information was extracted, such as: area knowledge, year of publication, number of citations, language and country of study, author and institution, name of the journal and impact factor of the journal. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation tests to assess the association between some quantitative variables. A total of 88 articles were found for the species Myrmecophaga tridactyla and 43 for the species Bradypus variegatus. There is a need for more scientific publications with these species, as there are many knowledge gaps and few studies with this study.
