Ethical discernment in the magisterium of his holiness Pope Francis: A theological reflection for the current context

Resumo: The theme of discernment has been reflected in various fields and raises some questions for theological ethical reflection. This work aims to analyze the principle of discernment, from the theological reflection of Pope Francis, as a hermeneutic for ethical teaching and responsible action. Therefore, this article proposes to understand ethical discernment as a methodological principle in theological reflection, in order to develop a certain understanding of conscience, as an instance of discernment, in the moral behavior of the subject, based on the paradigm of brotherhood.
