Transnational activism against police violence in Brazil: the framing of Amesty International

Resumo: | This article studies the performance of Anistia Internacional on the issue of police violence in Brazil in recent years. The article has the objective of analyzing the framing adopted by the organization through its official publications within a period of four years, from 2019 to 2022. The article uses the method of qualitative analysis of documents supported by bibliographic review. With this, it intends to contribute to a better understanding of the operation of transnational activism in human rights in a country that is currently facing a public security crisis and an increase in police lethality. The study identifies the actions of the organization as partially successful in the country, pointing out positive and negative aspects. It seeks to help an area that lacks academic studies, expanding knowledge on a topic of great relevance in a contemporary political context. |

O artigo tem como objetivo analisar o enquadramento adotado pela organização por meio de suas publicações oficiais dentro de um período de quatro anos, de 2019 a 2022. Utiliza-se o método de análise qualitativa de documentos amparado em revisão bibliográfica descritiva. Com isso, pretende-se contribuir para uma melhor compreensão da atuação do ativismo transnacional em direitos humanos em um país que atualmente enfrenta uma crise de segurança pública e um aumento de mortes por intervenção policial. O estudo identifica as ações da organização como parcialmente bem-sucedidas no país, apontando aspectos positivos e negativos.
