CONSTITUTIONALISM AND THE EVOLUTION OF CONSTITUTIONAL INTERPRETATION

Resumo: Bearing in mind that the Constitution is an achievement of national history and that understanding the past is extremely important for understanding the present and determining the future path, this article strives to remember the origin and evolution of the Constitutional Text. First, the origin of the first Constitutions comes back. Second, it presents, at the same time, the evolution of constitutionalism, the evolution of constitutional interpretation and its current reflexes in the Brazilian constitutional jurisdiction. To achieve this objective, the historical, philosophical and legal frameworks that contributed to the evolution of constitutionalism were used as theoretical foundations, using the qualitative method based on the analysis of texts.

Primeiro, volta a origem das primeiras Constituições. Segundo, apresenta, concomitante a evolução do constitucionalismo, a evolução da interpretação constitucional e seus reflexos atuais na jurisdição constitucional brasileira.
