Resumo: | In this paper, we propose an interpretation of first centuries’ Christianism aiming to highlight its characteristics shared with contemporary popular religions of the Roman Empire. For this, we did an assessment between Judeo-Christian’s textual tradition and archaeological remains, referring above all to the religiosity of social groups deprived of full rights, aiming to evaluating of their similarities. We expect that this comparative exercise stresses the Mediterranean character of Christian religiosity. |

Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo2021-12-09info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/rever/article/view/5661810.23925/1677-1222.2021vol21i3a9REVER: Journal for the Study of Religion; Vol. 21 No. 3 (2021): Religião e Arqueologia; 143-156REVER: Revista de Estudos da Religião; v. 21 n. 3 (2021): Religião e Arqueologia; 143-1561677-1222reponame:Rever (São Paulo.
