Educação: estreitando os laços entre a escola, a família e a comunidade

Resumo: This study is a reflection on the importance and the need of closer ties between the school, the family, and the community in educating and training citizens and subjects. This is a qualitative research based on a theoretical approach with the goal of providing some thoughts on the importance of bringing together the school, the family, and the community, through a commitment which involves not only educating and training, but also participation, shared-responsibility, and cooperation in the social role of children, youngsters, and adults. More specifically, this study also has the aim, to reflect on the difficulties of approaching these segments, to think about the possibilities of overcoming these difficulties, and to learn from experiences that have worked and innovations that can contribute to a democratic and liberating education. The first chapter is a brief visit to the concepts of family, school, community and citizen, as well as providing initial remarks about the importance of these segments in educating human beings. The second chapter reinforces the importance of these institutions as enshrined in Brazilian law. The third chapter brings the democratic partnership of this triad in raising a citizen for a fairer, more sympathetic, brotherly and participatory society, ensuring a shared commitment to education and determining a mutual responsibility among children, youngster, and adults. The fourth chapter presents some democratic work experiences that have worked and are continuing to be built up while society changes, the family changes and the forms and instruments of learning and teaching also change. If the school has a social function to form historical subjects, it needs to be a space that offers favorable conditions to enable the construction and socialization of the knowledge that is produced, and this does not happen only at school but in every other environment one lives in; because knowledge also takes place and is developed through the relationships that exist across different social spaces. This study showed that bringing together the school, the family and the community is a difficult experience which presents a lot of inequalities and it hasn’t been reached by many schools yet. Besides, the positive experiences presented in this study are few, it has taken a long time and they are still being collectively built. There is no straight forward way. The only certainty which one can be sure of is about the need to innovate and break rules, setting oneself free from all the things which still bind education to an inoperative and a more and more impractical system

Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa de abordagem teórica com o objetivo de possibilitar algumas considerações sobre a importância da aproximação da escola, da família e da comunidade num compromisso não só de formação educativa, mas de participação, responsabilidade e cooperação na constituição social da criança, do jovem e do adulto. Tem também o intuito, mais específico, de refletir sobre as dificuldades de aproximação destes segmentos, pensar as possibilidades de superação dessas dificuldades e conhecer experiências que deram certo e que podem contribuir com inovações para uma educação democrática e libertadora. O primeiro capítulo é uma breve visita aos conceitos de família, de escola, de comunidade e de cidadão, além de sucintas considerações acerca da importância desses segmentos na formação do ser humano. O segundo capítulo reforça a relevância dessas instituições para o indivíduo de forma presente na legislação nacional. O terceiro capítulo traz a parceria democrática dessa tríade na construção do cidadão para uma sociedade mais justa, solidária, fraterna e participativa, garantindo um comprometimento compartilhado com a educação e determinando uma responsabilidade mútua com a criança, o jovem e o adulto. O quarto capítulo apresenta algumas experiências de trabalho articulado e democrático que deram certo e continuam se construindo à medida que a sociedade muda, que a família muda e que muda também as formas e os instrumentos de aprender e ensinar. Se a escola tem a função social de formar sujeitos históricos, ela precisa ser um espaço que ofereça condições propícias que possibilitem a construção e a socialização do conhecimento que é produzido e que não acontece apenas no espaço escolar, mas em todos os ambientes que se permite viver; pois o conhecimento também se realiza e se desenvolve nas relações estabelecidas entre os diferentes espaços sociais. A pesquisa mostrou que, concretizar a aproximação da escola com a comunidade e a família é uma experiência difícil, com muitas desigualdades e que ainda está longe de ser alçada pela maioria das escolas. Além disso, as experiências positivas apresentadas no trabalho são muito isoladas e percorreram um longo caminho que ainda está sendo construído coletivamente. Não há uma direção certeira.
