The present work, developed through bibliographical and / or documentary research, will have as object of study the Pedagogy of Don Bosco and its importance in the present day. The choice of this theme is justified because of its relevance to the academic field and the improvement in the formation of citizens. Its method is characterized by the principles of reason, religion and amorevoleza. Don Bosco believed that education is a way of guiding, rescuing excluded young people from society and giving warm assistance by acting as a way to prevent marginalization by attacking their primary causes, which is lack of love, care and trust in young people. This method is very important in today's Brazil, where schools should offer a welcoming place where young people are in the center of attention and at the same time presenting itself as a school that is not retrograde. In times of the internet, where information is available easily and affordably, the school must reinvent itself, replacing the act of decorating to learn and the shallow encyclopedism by a more interactive teaching and not simply a hierarchical relation of fear to the teacher. Don Bosco emphasized that the teacher should be participative in the life of the young people, allowing them to have a relation of friendship and respect. This becomes very important in Brazil with so many regions of vulnerability and risk, where schools compete for youth with drug trafficking and other avenues of crime. In this way the method of Don Bosco contributes to make the school more inviting and thus a place of social and cultural shelter for our children and young people
