Resumo: This paper aimed to identify and analyze newspaper articles of the Gazeta do Povo regarding the social rights of the older people. An exploratory descriptive study carried out, in which it was obtained 71 publications between the months of January 2016 to August 2017. The social right to health, dignity and housing conditions as topics more addressed. The evidences points to the awareness of the population when orienting on actions to promote health, rehabilitation, adaptation of environmental and protection of the older adults in situations of violence.

Se realizó un estudio exploratorio descriptivo, en el que se obtuvieron 71 publicaciones entre los meses de enero de 2016 a agosto de 2017. El derecho social a la salud, dignidad y las condiciones de vivienda fueron los temas más abordados. Las materias apuntan a concientización de la población al orientar sobre las acciones de promoción de la salud, rehabilitación, adecuación del ambiente residencial y protección a los ancianos en situación de violencia.Esta pesquisa teve como propósito identificar e analisar as matérias do Jornal Gazeta do Povo referente aos direitos sociais dos idosos. Foi feito um estudo exploratório descritivo, em que foram obtidas 71 publicações entre os meses de janeiro de 2016 a agosto de 2017. O direito social à saúde, dignidade e as condições de moradia foram os temas mais abordados.
