Resumo: The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the vulnerability of the elderly. The objective of this research was to analyze the representations about the elderly in coping with the pandemic of COVID-19 in the publications and comments on Facebook of the Ministry of Health of Brazil. The coding model involved risk groups and multiple vulnerabilities, so that social representations highlighted prejudices against the elderly.

El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar las representaciones sobre los ancianos frente a la pandemia de COVID-19 en las publicaciones y comentarios en Facebook del Ministerio de Salud de Brasil. El modelo de codificación estableció grupos de riesgo y múltiples vulnerabilidades como formas de representación social, destacando los prejuicios contra las personas mayores. A pandemia de Covid-19 acentuou a vulnerabilidade do idoso. O objetivo desta pesquisa consistiu em analisar as representações sobre o idoso no enfrentamento da pandemia de COVID-19 nas publicações e comentários no Facebook do Ministério da Saúde do Brasil.
