Objectives: to identify how resilience is expressed among women with diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM2) in a municipality in the southwest region of Bahia and to analyze the relationship between resilience and sociodemographic characteristics and health. Method: A cross-sectional, prospective research, developed among 50 women with DM2 in 2013, using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and sociodemographic data. Results: showed that the average value of DM2 impact on quality of life of women is similar to that found in other studies that investigated people with an diabetes, with average resilience scale CD-RISC of 79.48. There was an association between resilience and religion and the impact of the quality of life of patients with Diabetes in general. We conclude that interventions that enable the promotion of resilience in women with diabetes type 2 can increase the positive outcomes of life and make them more confident in their treatment to improve glycemic control. |
