Resumo: “Be grandparent” It is a remarkable event, even though it is less common in these days. The grandchildren are a source of stimulation to the seniors, contributing against the aging and providing them a better quality of life. The results show that social relations are important for the elderly can enjoy quality of life, but will the grandchildren make the difference when we refer to life quality of the grandparents?Keywords: Quality of life; Grandparents; Grandchildren.

Los nietos son una fuente de estímulo para las personas mayores, contribuyendo con el envejecimiento y proporcionándoles una mejor calidad de vida. Los resultados muestran que las relaciones sociales son importantes para que los mayores puedan disfrutar de la calidad de vida, pero ¿los nietos marcarán la diferencia cuando nos referimos a la calidad de vida de los abuelos?Keywords: Calidad de vida; Abuelos; Nietos.“Ser avô” é um acontecimento marcante, apesar de ser cada vez mais raro. Os netos são uma fonte de estimulação para os avós, contribuindo para a luta contra o declínio do envelhecimento e proporcionando-lhes uma melhor qualidade de vida.
