National Fund of the Elderly: a tool for strengthening of Councils and guarantee of rights of the elderly

Resumo: The National Fund for the Elderly, established by Federal Law No. 12,213, is under the jurisdiction of the National Council on the Rights of the Elderly - CNDI, which should set the criteria for its use in resolution, used as benchmark for the Funds Municipal, District and State. This article reports the experience and aims to record and disclose how was the inaugural managing this Fund which is a potential tool for strengthening the Councils and guarantee of the rights of Brazilians older people.
