Love, loving relationships and polyamor in the perspective of young university students and the elderly

Resumo: The aim of this study was to investigate the beliefs of young university students and seniors about: the concepts they attribute to the word love and what they understand as love relationships are monogamous, polygamous, or polyamorous. It is an exploratory, cross-sectional and descriptive study. Seven university students, ranging in age from 22 to 42 years old and five elderly people, aged between 62 and 68, participated in the study. The sample was obtained for convenience. It was observed that the concept of love, love relationships and polyamor are heterogeneous and influenced by the experience of each individual. Some external factors may have contributed to the formation of the individual's conception, such as culture, social group, the time lived etc.

Some external factors may have contributed to the formation of the individual's conception, such as culture, social group, the time lived etc. Este estudio tuvo por objetivo investigar las creencias de jóvenes universitarios y ancianos sobre: los conceptos por ellos atribuidos a la palabra amor, y lo que entienden como relaciones amorosas, sean estos monogámicos, poligámicos o poliamorosos. Se trata de un estudio exploratorio, transversal y descriptivo. Participaron de la investigación siete jóvenes universitarios, con edades variando entre 22 a 42 años y cinco ancianos, y edades entre 62 y 68 años. La muestra se obtuvo por conveniencia. Se observó que los conceptos de amor, relaciones amorosas, y poliamor son heterogéneos, siendo influenciados por la vivencia de cada individuo. Algunos factores externos pueden haber contribuido a la formación de la concepción del individuo, como la cultura, el grupo social, la época vivida etc. Este estudo teve por objetivo investigar as crenças de jovens universitários e idosos sobre: os conceitos por eles atribuídos à palavra amor, e o que entendem como relacionamentos amorosos, sejam estes monogâmicos, poligâmicos ou poliamorosos. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, transversal e descritivo. Participaram da pesquisa sete jovens universitários, com idades variando entre 22 a 42 anos e cinco idosos, e idades entre 62 e 68 anos. A amostra foi obtida por conveniência. Observou-se que os conceitos de amor, relacionamentos amorosos, e poliamor são heterogêneos, sendo influenciados pela vivência de cada indivíduo.
