Resumo: The Bologna process is considered a majorrevolution in European Higher Education. It has motivatedalterations, within the higher education institutions, in thestructure of degrees, in curriculum, in duration and inteaching/learning relationships. It has also affected othersectors of society including the financing of the studies. Themain features are the creation of three cycles for highereducation and other actions to create a more homogeneousset of qualifications within the European education space.These modifications have been decided by each nationalgovernment in cooperation with the other signatories. Inthis paper some of the developments of the transformationsof engineering education degrees in Europe are presentedand discussed. The relationship between the educationalchanges and the influence in the globalization ofengineering education is analyzed. The comparisonbetween these advancements is compared with otherdevelopments in other parts of the world concerning themajor influences on the effects within the
