Resumo: The “case study” presented describes a pathology of the minor salivary glands and its surgical procedure. The patient attended the dental appointment complaining of lip edema on the right side of the mouth. The location of the lesion, trauma history, rapid onset, variations in size, bluish color and consistency were considered and led to the initial clinical diagnosis of mucocele. The nature of the mucocele, the understanding of the obstructive phenomenon that conditions the rupture of the ducts of the minor salivary glands, and the surgical protocol, were targets of development. The therapeutic approach described aims to cure the patient and histologically confirm the initial clinical diagnosis of mucocele, interpret the histological characteristics of the pathology, as well as explore paresthesia as a postoperative complication.
