Resumo: This article presents an investigation into some of the main choices of the guitarists when transcribing and performing Domenico Scarlatti sonatas. For the observation of these practices seven sonatas were selected in different versions by renowned guitarists, and the following pa rameters were used: adaptations of the text, instrumental resources, articulation and ornamentation. In order to systematize the investigation of this material the following tools were used: analysis of transcriptions (scores and recordings), bibliographic research, and the daily record of the study process of the sonatas. From this research the recognition of general trends of the guitarists was possible, such as: uniform articulation, uniform tone and color, and ornament execution on two strings. Furtherm ore, some unconventional solutions were identified which lead the way for new transcription approaches.

Neste trabalho são apresentadas uma análise e discussão sobre algumas das princi pais escolhas dos guitarristas ao interpretarem o texto musical scarlattiano. Para a observação destas práticas, foram selecionadas sete sonatas em versões de guitarristas de renome, e utilizados os seguintes parâmetros: adaptações do texto original, recur sos instrumentais, articulação e ornamentação. De maneira a sistematizar a investigação deste material, foram utilizadas as seguintes ferramentas: análise das transcrições dos guitarristas (partituras e gravações), pesquisa bibliográfica e registro diário do processo de estudo destas sonatas na guitarra. A partir da investigação realizada, foi possível o reconhecimento de tendências gerais dos guitarristas na prática deste repertório, tais como: uniformidade de articulação, uniformidade de timbre, e execuçã o de ornamentos em duas cordas.
