Resumo: - The main objective of this work is a technicaland economic analysis of a flooded evaporator in a vapourcompression refrigerant cycle using R134a as working fluid.To achieve this goal, it was used a simulation software, thePack Calculation Pro 4.2. A comparison of the annual energyconsumption of the refrigeration system with a floodedevaporator was carried out having as reference the samesystem with a dry evaporator. In this study are analysed theadvantages and disadvantages of using the two types ofevaporators, the flooded and dry one, in situations of presenceof overheating for the dry evaporator and the presence of thepump in the flooded evaporator. It was concluded that theadvantage in the implementation of flooded evaporator isdirectly proportional to the degree of overheating at the exitof the dry evaporator
