Resumo: Cláudia Sousa was a founding member of the newly emerging and interdisciplinary field of primate archaeology. This discipline employs an archaeological approach to the study of nonhuman primates through the observation of their material culture - i. e. objects produced during tool use and manipulation - and has significant implications in the study of human evolution.
