Estas são acompanhadas de importantes alterações ao nível do comportamento dos turistas, que são cada vez mais activos, participativos, exigentes, e informados. Os espaços museológicos configuram espaços de lazer por excelência, referenciados e publicitados por todas as regiões com actividade turística significativa. A observação directa do fenómeno e os investimentos públicos e privados neste tipo de espaços motivou o interesse em investigar a relação existente entre os espaços museológicos e o turismo. Ao mesmo tempo, importa problematizar a distribuição turística e o seu novo paradigma de intermediação, no sentido de chamar a atenção para a importância da construção de uma cadeia de valor do turismo que potencie ao máximo o sucesso dos destinos. As orientações estratégicas de planeamento e desenvolvimento do turismo nacional e local, baseados em pilares como a sustentabilidade ambiental e económica, lazer e cultura, indicam que as regiões de Portugal, como a Serra da Estrela e o seu Pólo de Desenvolvimento Turístico, devem incrementar os seus recursos em efectivos produtos turísticos. A exploração massiva do Alto da Torre através do produto neve, não garante procura durante todo o ano, e nesse sentido é necessário garantir oferta turística e de lazer de qualidade suficiente para atrair uma nova procura, com motivações e necessidades diversificadas, tal como a fragmentação, hedonismo, fortes níveis de informação e conhecimento caracterizadores dos indivíduos da era pós-moderna. A presente investigação, no referido contexto de análise da relação entre os museus e a actividade turística, aparece centrada em dois casos de estudo na Serra da Estrela (Cordilheira Central), o Museu do Pão (Seia) e o Museu de Lanifícios (Covilhã), e permite conhecer o perfil do visitante de museus nesta região, as suas motivações, opiniões, consumos e percursos em torno dos espaços museológicos e dos seus quadros geográficos de relação.The growing social and Economic Importance of Tourism activity also reveals a significant number of qualitative changes as the segmentation, new geographical choices, planning, among others. These are accompanied by important changes to the level of tourist behavior, that are increasingly active, participatory, demanding and informed. Museums are places of leisure par excellence, referenced and advertised in all regions with significant tourism activity. Direct observation of the phenomenon and public and private investments in this type of spaces motivated the interest in investigating the relationship between tourism and museum spaces. At the same time, we discuss the tourism distribution and its new paradigm of intermediation, in order to draw attention to the importance of building a value chain of tourism that will maximize the success of destinations. The strategic guidelines for planning and development of national and local tourism, based on pillars such as environmental and economic sustainability, leisure and culture, indicate that regions of Portugal, as the Serra da Estrela and its Pole of Tourist Development, should increase its resources in effective tourism products. The massive exploitation of the High Tower through the product snow, does not guarantee demand throughout the year, and in this sense is necessary to ensure tourism and leisure suplly in sufficient quality to attract a new demand, with diverse needs and motivations, such as fragmentation, hedonism, strong levels of information and knowledge which characterizing the individuals of the postmodern era. The present investigation, in the context of analysis the relationship between museums and tourism, appears centered on two case studies in the Serra da Estrela (Central Mountain Range), the Museum of Bread (Seia) and the Wool Museum (Covilhã), and allows to understand the museum visitor profile in this region, their motivations, opinions, consumption and trails around the museum spaces and its geographic relationship.2011info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesishttp://hdl.handle.net/10316/20200http://hdl.handle.net/10316/20200porMENDES, Vítor Hugo Marcelino Sequeira - Museus e turismo na Serra da Estrela.
