Resumo: When asked – “What now, Joseph?” – it opens the questioning regarding the male gender, do work-family conflicts also fall upon them? Or does this fact not involve them. This study analyzes how the professors of the Graduate Programs in Management stricto sensu in Curitiba-PR-Brazil, with entrepreneurial profile, deal with the conflicts resulting from the work-family relation in the development of entrepreneurial competences. Joseph here symbolizes them, through the poetry of Carlos Drummond de Andrade (in a counterpoint, the possible questionings and anxieties of the male gender in contemporaneity in the intersection between work and family). This study marks its theoretical limits by not turning to questions as the social construction of the gender and sexual orientation. This is a research with a qualitative approach, with exploratory and descriptive case study, which data collection occurred between 2010 and 2011. The results showed that the entrepreneurial competences development brings conflicts in the work-family relations.
