Dor miofascial no cão com doença degenerativa articular

A osteoartrite é a doença de articulação mais comum e pode levar à diminuição da atividade e à limitação dos movimentos no cão. Os doentes com osteoartrite podem apresentar tensão ou sensibilidade muscular. Durante a realização do estágio curricular foi desenvolvido um estudo com sete cães diagnosticados com doença articular ou em risco de a desenvolver. O objetivo do estudo era verificar a presença de dor miofascial nesses doentes. No decorrer do estudo recolheram-se vários dados dos animais, nomeadamente identificação e anamnese, exames de estado geral, ortopédico e neurológico, questionários LOAD, CBPI e COAST, observação e palpação miofascial. Concluiu-se que existia dor miofascial em cinco dos cinco animais aptos para a realização do estudo. Dois animais foram excluídos por alterações no estado de saúde. Na abordagem ao doente com osteoartrite deve considerar-se que poderá haver uma componente miofascial; ABSTRACT: Myofascial pain in canine patient with osteoarthritis - Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease and can lead to decreased activity and limitations of movement in the dog. Patients with osteoarthritis may have muscle tension or tenderness. During the curricular internship, a study was developed with seven dogs diagnosed with or at risk of developing joint disease. The aim of this study was to verify the presence of myofascial pain in these patients. During the study, a number of animal data was collected, including identification and anamnesis, realization of general, orthopaedic, and neurological examinations, LOAD, CBPI and COAST questionnaires and myofascial observation and palpation. It was concluded that there was myofascial pain in five of the five animals able to carry out the study. Two animals were excluded due to changes in health status. In the approach to patients with osteoarthritis it should be considered that there may be a myofascial component.
