The Clinical Analysis Laboratory in the COVID-19 Pandemics

Resumo: The recent COVID-19 crisis is a reminder of the central role clinical analysis laboratories and its specialists perform in health care, in the selection of appropriate testing and in achieving and interpreting the test results in the clinical context of the patients.This is the case in both the diagnosis analysis and serological follow up and in the required biochemical analysis in the cases of hospitalized patients with more serious manifestations of the disease.We refer to the different types of tests in the market for SARS-CoV-2, the procedures for using those that are more effective in light of the current knowledge we have and we provide the necessary laboratorial support in the deconfinement stage, in the path towards regaining the usual economic and social activity.

Seja nas análises de diagnóstico e de seguimento serológico, seja nas análises bioquímicas necessárias no caso dos doentes hospitalizados com formas mais graves da doença.
