Resumo: The text discusses Sade's legal and political thinking, conceiving it from the perspective of the politics of the worst, to the detriment of the moralistic Sade defended by Jean-Baptiste Jeangène Vilmer. In the view of François Ost, Sade sees the law in terms of “personal constitution”, of “law of exception”, of individual sovereignty. The radical criticism of the order established in the work by Sade does not, therefore, lead to the establishment of a new order, better in general terms, but to one in which the law is not reformed but counterfeited, and this counterfeit constitutes an imperfection.
