Ecotourism as an alternative for sustainable development in Mapinguari National Park: a systematic review

Tourism has been growing significantly in recent decades and is increasingly impacting global GDP. In Brazil, leisure-oriented tourism is the most common, given the diversity of environments with relevant scenic beauty in different biomes. In this context, the article aims to present a bibliographical analysis on the importance of ecotourism as a form of sustainable development within conservation units and their surroundings, with the Mapinguari National Park as the object of study. The data was analyzed based on the ecotourism theme, presenting the potential aspects that justify its importance. It was found that ecological tourism has increasingly become part of forms of leisure and recreation, with a greater propensity of the public to leave complacency and experience experiences in natural environments and under different socio-cultural scenarios. The Mapinguari National Park presents a diversity of fauna, flora and fungi, which represents great tourism potential, however there is a need to update specific diagnoses to better assess the potential and panorama in relation to public use.
