Financial Education: a multi-case study on the adequacy of some schools and the perception of their pedagogical coordinators

Resumo: Financial education has been emphasized in the recent years by the theme inclusion in the curriculum of Brazilian schools. In this scope, this study aimed to analyze the perception of pedagogical coordinators about financial education taught to students in private elementary school network in the Midwest of Rio Grande do Sul. To do so, a qualitative and descriptive research was carried out based on a multiple case by semi-structured interviews with those responsible for coordinating the schools that have financial education in their curriculum. The results showed that the inclusion of financial education in the schools’ curriculum is recent and need some improvement. In most schools analyzed the theme has not followed the students since elementary levels; in addition, the results showed the use of a practical and fragmented approach along elementary school aiming the interaction with the students’ family with the homework.

En este ámbito, la investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar la percepción de los coordinadores pedagógicos sobre la enseñanza de la educación financiera a los estudiantes de la red de escuelas primarias privadas en una ciudad de la región central de Rio Grande do Sul. Para ello, una investigación cualitativa y descriptiva Se llevó a cabo, con el estudio de múltiples casos, mediante la realización de entrevistas semiestructuradas con los responsables de coordinar la docencia de las escuelas que abordan la educación financiera en su currículo. Los resultados mostraron que la inclusión de la educación financiera en el plan de estudios de las escuelas es reciente y aún se encuentra en un período de mejora. En la mayoría de las escuelas, el tema no ha seguido a los estudiantes desde los grados iniciales, además, los resultados mostraron que el tema se aborda de manera práctica y fragmentada durante la escuela primaria con el fin de instigar al estudiante a aprender y, en la búsqueda de interacción con la familia con la tarea.A educação financeira tem recebido destaque nos últimos anos, podendo-se destacar a inclusão do tema na grade curricular nas escolas brasileiras. Nesse escopo, a pesquisa objetivou analisar a percepção dos coordenadores pedagógicos acerca do ensino de educação financeira para alunos da rede privada de ensino fundamental em um município da região central do Rio Grande do Sul. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa e descritiva, por meio da realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas com as responsáveis pela coordenação do ensino das escolas que abordam a educação financeira em sua grade curricular. Os resultados evidenciaram que a inclusão da educação financeira na grade curricular das escolas é recente, encontrando-se ainda em período de aperfeiçoamento.
