Environmental education workshop for the conservation of Córrego Pamplona in Vazante-MG: an investigative approach in the teaching of ecology

Resumo: Ecosystems have undergone intense interventions and anthropic transformations that may compromise human life, especially water systems. In this context, ecological knowledge is prominent for understanding these environmental issues for society. As a result, the present study aimed to identify possible changes and overcoming the students from the assimilated knowledge and to inform the school community about the ecological conditions of the Pamplona stream, in addition to investigating the students' perceptions of the Pamplona stream through practices of Environmental Education, in order to provide an understanding of ecological aspects related to conservation and environmental preservation within Biology Teaching. The research was developed with regular high school students from the Carolina Silva State School in the Municipality of Vazante (Minas Gerais) from 2019 to 2020. The procedures for collecting information were observations of the environmental state of the Pamplona stream and the application of questionnaires to the students. The field class was carried out at three points in the area located along the Pamplona stream. The collected data were analyzed and interpreted qualitatively according to Minayo's (2002) content analysis. The results obtained indicate which are the existing environmental impacts in the stream, which compromise its conservation, evidencing its main causes. As this environment affects the lives of students, we seek, in this way, the construction of a conscious citizenship through the practices of Environmental Education in Biology Teaching. It is concluded that the environmental education workshop is a viable proposal for learning, taking into account the students' cognitive aspects.

En este contexto, el conocimiento ecológico es destacado para la comprensión de estos problemas ambientales para la sociedad. Como resultado, el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar posibles cambios y superaciones de los estudiantes a partir de los conocimientos asimilados e informar a la comunidad escolar sobre las condiciones ecológicas del arroyo Pamplona, ​​además de investigar las percepciones de los estudiantes sobre el arroyo Pamplona a través de prácticas de Educación Ambiental, con el fin de facilitar la comprensión de los aspectos ecológicos relacionados con la conservación y preservación del medio ambiente dentro de la Enseñanza de la Biología. La investigación se desarrolló con estudiantes regulares de secundaria de la Escuela Estadual Carolina Silva del Municipio de Vazante (Minas Gerais) de 2019 a 2020. Los procedimientos de recolección de información fueron observaciones del estado ambiental de la quebrada Pamplona y la aplicación de cuestionarios a los estudiantes La clase de campo se llevó a cabo en tres puntos de la zona situada a lo largo de la riera de Pamplona. Los datos recolectados fueron analizados e interpretados cualitativamente según el análisis de contenido de Minayo (2002). Los resultados obtenidos indican cuáles son los impactos ambientales existentes en el arroyo, que comprometen su conservación, evidenciando sus principales causas. Como este ambiente afecta la vida de los estudiantes, buscamos, de esa forma, la construcción de una ciudadanía consciente a través de las prácticas de Educación Ambiental en la Enseñanza de la Biología. Se concluye que el taller de educación ambiental es una propuesta viable para el aprendizaje, teniendo en cuenta los aspectos cognitivos de los estudiantes.Os ecossistemas têm sofrido intensas intervenções e transformações antrópicas que podem vir a comprometer a vida humana, em especial os sistemas hídricos. Nesse contexto, os conhecimentos ecológicos são proeminentes para o entendimento dessas questões ambientais para a sociedade. Em virtude disso, o presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar possíveis mudanças e superações dos estudantes a partir dos conhecimentos assimilados e informar à comunidade escolar sobre as condições ecológicas do córrego Pamplona, além de investigar as percepções dos estudantes sobre o córrego Pamplona por meio de práticas de Educação Ambiental, a fim de proporcionar o entendimento dos aspectos ecológicos relacionados à conservação e à preservação ambiental dentro do Ensino de Biologia. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida junto a estudantes do Ensino Médio regular da Escola Estadual Carolina Silva no Município de Vazante (Minas Gerais) nos anos de 2019 a 2020. Os procedimentos para coleta de informações foram observações do estado ambiental do córrego Pamplona e aplicação de questionários aos estudantes.  Foi executada a aula de campo em três pontos na área localizada ao longo do córrego Pamplona. Os dados coletados foram analisados e interpretados qualitativamente de acordo com a análise de conteúdo de Minayo. Os resultados obtidos indicam quais são os impactos ambientais existentes no córrego, os quais comprometem sua conservação, evidenciando suas principais causas. Como esse ambiente afeta a vida dos estudantes, busca-se, dessa forma, a construção de uma cidadania consciente pelas práticas de Educação Ambiental no Ensino de Biologia.
