Resumo: This work encompasses the taxonomic study of Cleomaceae for the State of Paraíba, Brazil. Data were obtained from monthly field work between December/2016-July/2018 in order to gather specimens of the family, analysis of herbaria collections in loco and online collections available in the speciesLink database. We recorded five genera and eleven species in the study area: Cleoserrata Iltis (one sp.); Dactylaena Schrad. ex Schultes & Schult.f. (two spp.), Gynandropsis Bercht. & J. Presl (one sp.), Physostemon Mart. & Zucc. (three spp.) and Tarenaya Raf. (four spp.). We present identification key to the species, morphological descriptions, pictures plates and ink pen drawings.

Foram realizadas expedições de campo entre dezembro/2016-julho/2018 para a obtenção de espécimes da família e consulta a coleções de herbários in loco, além de consulta de bancos de dados online via speciesLink. Foram registrados cinco gêneros e onze espécies para o Estado: Cleoserrata Iltis (uma sp.); Dactylaena Schrad. ex Schultes & Schult.f. (duas spp.); Gynandropsis Bercht. & J.  Presl (uma sp.), Physostemon Mart. & Zucc. (três spp.) e Tarenaya Raf. (quatro spp.).
