STEAM APPROACH AND HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION: A NEW LANGUAGE FOR YOUTH EDUCATION?

Resumo: | When asking about a new language for youth education, in the digital age, we are compelled to think about pedagogical practices designed to serve this audience that navigates cyberspace. In this sense, this study proposes to present the STEAM approach (acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) by different authors and contexts, considering the current reform of secondary education, focusing on the state of Mato Grosso. The objective is to analyze the evolution of the STEAM approach and its articulation with such reform, based on the problem: What contribution can the STEAM approach promote in the teaching and learning process of students in basic education, especially in high school? This question motivated exploratory research with a bibliographic and documentary design, which, based on the Protagonism and Life Project categories, operationalized the content analysis in the Mato Grosso Curricular Reference Document - High School stage (DRC/MT-EM). The contribution of this research is in the dialogue between STEAM and the new structure for High School, showing possible paths in this trajectory, highlighting the development of policies that contemplate a new language for youth education, in order to enable new perspectives on resignification of pedagogical practices within the school space. |

En ese sentido, este estudio se propone presentar el enfoque STEAM (acrónimo de Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Arte y Matemáticas) de diferentes autores y contextos, considerando la actual reforma de la educación secundaria, con foco en el estado de Mato Grosso. El objetivo es analizar la evolución del enfoque STEAM y su articulación con dicha reforma, partiendo del problema: ¿Cuál es el aporte que el enfoque STEAM puede promover en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de los estudiantes de educación básica, en especial de bachillerato? Esta pregunta motivó la investigación exploratoria con diseño bibliográfico y documental, que, a partir de las categorías Protagonismo y Proyecto de Vida, operacionalizó el análisis de contenido en el Documento de Referencia Curricular de Mato Grosso - Etapa de Educación Secundaria (DRC/MT-EM). La contribución de esta investigación radica en el diálogo entre STEAM y la nueva estructura para la Enseñanza Media, mostrando caminos posibles en esa trayectoria, destacando la elaboración de políticas que involucren un nuevo lenguaje para la educación de los jóvenes, en el sentido de posibilitar nuevas perspectivas sobre la re -significación de prácticas pedagógicas dentro del espacio escolar a través del enfoque STEAM.Ao indagar sobre uma nova linguagem para a educação da juventude, na era digital, somos compelidos a pensar práticas pedagógicas desenhadas para atender esse público que navega no ciberespaço. Nesse sentido, este estudo se propõe a apresentar a abordagem STEAM (sigla para Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) por diferentes autores e contextos, considerando a atual reforma do ensino médio, com recorte para o estado de Mato Grosso. O objetivo é analisar a evolução da abordagem STEAM e sua articulação com tal reforma, a partir do problema: Qual a contribuição que a abordagem STEAM pode promover no processo de ensino e aprendizagem de estudantes da educação básica, em especial do Ensino Médio? Essa questão motivou a pesquisa de cunho exploratório com delineamento bibliográfico e documental, que, a partir das categorias Protagonismo e Projeto de Vida, operacionalizou a análise de conteúdo no Documento de Referência Curricular de Mato Grosso - etapa Ensino Médio (DRC/MT-EM).
