Aplication moment of fungicide pyraclostrobyn + epoxiconazol in soybean rust control

Resumo: Soybean rust, a new disease in Brazil caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, occurred in the 2002/2003 crop season in the main producing regions. In order to avoid significant yield losses and unnecessary sprays, it is necessary to determine the better moment to spray fungicide. This work compared different spray moments to control soybean rust, spraying pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazol (0,5 L/ha c.p.) in the following treatments: 1 - sprayed in R4 growth stage; 2 - 4 days after first aplication (DAF); 3 - 9 DAF; 4 -14 DAF; 5 -19 DAF; 6 - 23 DAF; 7 - control (water). The cultivar was Fepagro-RS 10, planted in January 10th of 2003, and set up in randomized blocks, with 4 repetitions. The first lesions of rust were visible 4 DAF, in the control treatment. The yield (kg/ha) and the weight of 100 seeds (g) were measured. The treatments in R4 and, 4, 9, 14, 19 and 23 DAF showed, respectively, 15, 17, 17, 8, 11 and 8% higher yield that control, and 12, 14, 7, 7, 5 and 1% higher weight of 100 seeds that control. The treatments in R4 and 4 DAF were more efficient with no statistical difference between them. Taking a decision-making practical conceming whether to spray the fungicide or not, the treatment 4 DAF would be more suitable because it was performed when the first symptoms appeared in the field.

Taking a decision-making practical conceming whether to spray the fungicide or not, the treatment 4 DAF would be more suitable because it was performed when the first symptoms appeared in the field.A ferrugem da soja, doença causada pelo fungo Phakopsora pachyrhizi recentemente constatada no Brasil, e que na safra de 2002/03 ocorreu nas principais regiões produtoras do país, revela, em virtude de seu alto potencial de dano, a necessidade de se determinar o momento mais adequado de aplicação de fungicidas, de forma a se evitar perdas significativas de produtividade e aplicações desnecessárias. Este trabalho comparou diferentes momentos de aplicação para o controle da ferrugem, utilizando o fungicida piraclostrobim + epoxiconazole (0,5 L/ha p.c.) nos seguintes tratamentos: I- pulverização no estádio R4; 2- 4 dias após a primeira pulverização (DAP); 3- 9 DAP; 4- 14 DAP; 5- 19 DAP; 6- 23 DAP; 7- testemunha (água em todas as épocas). Utilizou-se a cultivar Fepagro- RS 10, semeada dia 10/01/2003. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso, com 4 repetições. As primeiras pústulas de ferrugem foram constatadas na testemunha 4 dias após a primeira aplicação. Foram medidos a produti- vidade (kg/ha) e o peso de cem sementes (g). As pulverizações no estádio R4 e, 4, 9, 14, 19 e 23 DAP, mostraram, respectivamente, 15, 17, 17, 8, 11 e 8% de produtividade superior a da testemunha, e 12, 14, 7, 7, 5 e 1% de peso de cem sementes superior ao da testemunha. Os tratamentos em R4 e 4 DAP foram os que apresentaram melhores resultados, não diferindo entre eles. Considerando-se uma simulação prática de tomada de decisão em se aplicar ou não um fungicida, o tratamento aos 4 dias após a primeira aplicação em R4 seria o mais adequado, por ter sido realizado no momento do aparecimento dos primeiros sintomas da doença no campoDepartamento de Diagnóstico e Pesquisa Agropecuária.
