Resumo: | This work was conducted at the Laboratório de Entomologia e Parasitologia Agrícola — Fundação Estadual de Pesquisa Agropecuária (FEPAGRO), in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. The objective was to test chemical and biological disinfestation of strawberry seedlings from the twospotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae (Koch, 1836). TWo assays were performed using strawberry seedlings of Sequóia cultivar infested by T urticae. Tests were taken under a randomized block design with five replications and eight treatments, in the first trial, and nine treatments + Phytoseiulus macropilis (Banks, 1904), in the second one. Chemicals controlled the twospotted spider mito. P. macropilis controlled T urticae showing a good performance as biological control. The chemicals amitraz, abamectin, cihexatin, sulfur + neutral soap, phempropatrin and propargit were toxic to P macropilis. It is advised to grow strawberry seedlings free of P urticae. |

O presente trabalho foi conduzido no Laboratório de Entomologia e Parasitologia Agrícola da FEPAGRO, em Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. Objetivou estudar a desinfestação química e biológica de mudas de morangueiro, em pré- plantio, contra o ácaro rajado Tetranychus urticae (Koch, 1836). Foram efetuados dois experimentos, utilizando mudas de morangueiro da cultivar Sequóia infestadas pelo ácaro rajado. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos casualizados, com cinco repetições, sendo aplicados oito tratamentos no primeiro experimento e dez, no segundo. Os resultados evidenciaram que os acaricidas, nas doses testadas, foram eficientes no controle do ácaro rajado. O ácaro fitoseídeo Phytoseiulus macropilis (Hanks, 1904) mostrou-se promissor para o controle biológico de T urticae em mudas de morangueiro. Os acaricidas amitrás, abamectin, cihexatim, enxofre + sabão neutro, fenpropatrina e propargite foram altamente tóxicos ao P macropilis.
