Introduction: The Internet is a territory that has the presence of the youngest portion of the population in a continuous and accelerated way and the excessive use of social networks can have a direct relationship with the increase in health problems. Objective: Culturally adapt the Facebook Intensity Scale (FIS) instrument from US English to Brazilian Portuguese. Method: Methodological study, participated in the committee of teaching experts working in teaching and extension inserted in research involving young people or social media. Data collection took place from January to February 2019. Content analysis was developed in a virtual environment, using the Content Validity Index (CVI) to assess practical relevance, relevance and theoretical dimension. Result: Of the eight items on the scale, seven presented suggestions from experts to change the adapted version. In the content analysis, the title of the scale and all items evaluated by the experts as to practical and theoretical relevance presented maximum value of the average and global CVI. Final Considerations: The experts' analysis showed that the items are relevant to Brazilian culture with scientific evidence of cultural adaptation.
