Sociodemographic, clinical and therapeutic profile of patients with neoplastic wounds

Resumo: The study aims to describe the sociodemographic, clinical and therapeutic profile of patients with neoplasticwounds treated at a referral hospital in Campina Grande-PB. This is a retrospective and descriptive documentarystudy with a quantitative approach, in which secondary data were used - sociodemographic, clinical andtherapeutic - extracted from medical records of patients with neoplastic wounds, between January 2009 andDecember 2015. The sample consisted of 852 medical records, of which 447 were women (53%), aged 60 yearsor older (58.2%), married (28.6%), and had no schooling (28.5% %), Women farmers (23.9%) and retirees (36.3%).The majority (50.6%) were diagnosed with skin cancer; the lesions presented pain (9.6%), bleeding (3.9%), odor(2.5%), exudate (2.0%) and Signs of infection (1.1%). Regarding the therapeutic modality, the majority (50.7%) ofthe patients underwent biopsy, followed by radiotherapy (42.2%). It concluded that it is necessary to implementpublic policies regarding the prevention of skin, mouth and breast cancers, in order to reduce the risk of becomingill; health education for these patients, as well as to reduce local and systemic complications, such as neoplasticlesions; and to create effective strategies for the registration of the patient's complete sociodemographic, clinicaland therapeutic information in electronic or conventional medical records by health professionals.Keywords: Cutaneous Neoplasms; Oncology; Nursing Care.

Trata-se de um estudo documental, retrospectivo e descritivo, comabordagem quantitativa, em que foram utilizados dados secundários – sociodemográficos, clínicos e terapêuticos -extraídos de prontuários de pacientes com feridas neoplásicas, no intervalo de janeiro de 2009 a dezembro de 2015.A amostra foi composta por 852 prontuários, destes, 447 eram mulheres (53%), com idade igual ou maior que 60 anos(58,2%), casadas (28,6%), sem escolaridade (28,5%), agricultoras (23,9%) e aposentadas (36,3%). A maioria (50,6%)foi diagnosticada com câncer de pele, as lesões apresentavam dor (9,6%), sangramento (3,9%), odor (2,5%), exsudato(2,0%) e sinais de infecção (1,1%). Quanto à modalidade terapêutica, a maioria (50,7%) dos pacientes realizoubiópsia, seguida de radioterapia (42,2%).
