Resumo: This article proposes to analyze the series Masks of Punishment (2003-2004), Boa Aparência (2005) and Retrato Falado (2019) by the artist and photographer Eustáquio Neves as a reenactment and critical fabulation (Hartman, 2022) about erasures and silencing imposed on the black population in Brazil in the light of the thinking of Martins (2021), Foucault (2008) and Derrida (2001) on the archive.
