Resumo: This article discusses the use of the narrative interview as a technique in qualitative research. From the presentation of the research technique, the article points out the characteristics of the narrative interview, explaining its construction stages and discusses the possibilities of analysis based on the technique described by Schütze, highlighting the importance of its use in qualitative research. The narrative interview can move beyond the data, not being restricted to one aspect of the object under study but addressing the various nuances of interaction that make up the issue with the aim of deeply understanding the variables related to that issue. Narrating the past or the present work leads the individual to take a different look at his reality and reconfigure his practice. From the narrative analysis it is possible to infer patterns of action and behavior in certain groups, which can be extremely relevant in educational research.

A partir da apresentação da técnica de pesquisa, o artigo aponta as características da entrevista narrativa, explicando suas etapas de construção e discute as possibilidades de análise a partir da técnica descrita por Schütze, ressaltando a importância do seu uso na pesquisa qualitativa. A entrevista narrativa tem a capacidade de avançar para além dos dados, não ficando restrita a um aspecto do objeto em estudo, mas abordando as várias nuances da interação que compõem a questão com o objetivo de entender de maneira profunda as variáveis relacionadas com aquela questão. Narrar o passado ou o trabalho presente leva o indivíduo a olhar de maneira distinta sua realidade e a reconfigurar sua prática.
